Paddle Tampa Bay was founded in 2016 with three goal in mind:
When we first launched, we were originally called "Pinellas Paddlesports," and we focused our efforts primarily on paddling in Pinellas County, Florida. While other priorities caused us to take a hiatus from the website for a few years, we're back and we've expanded our coverage to the entire Tampa Bay region in order to better serve the community.
To achieve our goals, we've created a single, centralized source of information where paddlers (and aspiring paddlers) can find trustworthy paddling information, upstanding local paddling outfitters, as well as a comprehensive list of paddling activities taking place around Tampa Bay. We also plan to host a variety of live and virtual events that encourage paddlers explore our local waterways, as well as to keep paddling fun, dynamic, and engaging.
We plan to continually evolve our website to meet the needs of our members, visitors, and partners. Your feedback is welcomed and encouraged. If you have an idea for an article, event, or website enhancement please share your thoughts below.
- Build a strong and inclusive community of paddlers in the Tampa Bay area.
- Introduce new people to our lifestyle and break down the barriers that deter people from learning to paddle.
- Attract paddlers from outside of Tampa Bay to come enjoy all the area has to offer.
